"A udible sounds do not extend beyond their appointed boundaries. From the smallest to the largest scale, from sphere to sphere, each and every sound eventually reaches its audible limit. But the imaginal sound of a falling pin - or a falling tree - carries beyond all such limits. The vehicle, now, is silence.You can hear it in the imagination as silence. * The tree falling in the forest with no one present: we see the image, we hear it; we hear it, we see it.
