"N owadays things are easing up a little. There is a rumor that some of us, perhaps the whole unit, will be transferred. About eighty miles west of here the government is greatly expanding the logging industry. Our roadwork is almost finished; our station will soon be reduced to a snow clearing and road maintenance yard. A t any rate, it will be a welcome change. These roads have been hard work. Early in the fall I was sick with a nasty Siberian flu, but had to work anyway. It took its toll, but I am finally recovering. A nother thing that worries me is the continuity of our correspondence. This will probably be the last letter to come to you via the lady messenger, whom I love but shall not see again. I am getting accustomed to losses. S ince summer, I have been slowly working away on a book of sorts. However, my supply of candles and paper has been limited but so has my strength." * For kjøpsinformasjon eller andre opplysninger om kunstverkene, vennligst ring 472 35 186, eller send en e-post: gallery@nordicart.info Artwork (text & image): Jan Valentin Sæther / BONO © 2004 All Rights Reserved |
